My car is dropped, and I've been looking everywhere to get an oil change on it. I don't want to buy the jack made specially for dropped cars because it's over 4 bills!!! Anyone know a place I can get it done at?
Thank you!
Where can I get an oil change for my dropped car?
If the plastic ramps from auto parts stores and Walmart don't give you enough clearance I've got a deal for you. speedwaymotors.com has 3,000 lb. aluminum racing floor jacks for $129.00. They also have a 4,000 lb. unit for $159.00
They're much more reliable than the red painted up pieces of crap Sears sells.
Where can I get an oil change for my dropped car?
most paces that have a drive on lift can change the oil in it you may have to use pieces of boards to use to drive it on with but it can be done,i do them all the time you just have to be careful when doing them, good luck.

How do I change the antifreeze on my car?
How do I change the antifreeze on my car? I had to put in water over the summer when the car overheated and I changes the thermostat. But now, with the cold weather, I need to empty the water and put in 50-50 antifreeze.
How do I accomplish this?
How do I change the antifreeze on my car?
drain it and refill with 50/50 making sure you dont get any trapped air bubbles, look for a bleed plug at the highest location.
and remember not to drain it into a storm drain, it is a biohazard :(
How do I change the antifreeze on my car?
There's a drain on the bottom of the radiator. Drain the radiator, and then pour in the antifreeze.
probably go pay to have it drained, flushed, and filled. If you want to do it yourself, find the drain plug, put a container under it, drain, flush with a garden hose a couple times, put plug back in, refill. If your have an older car, I suggest you do it yourself, if you really dont know much and it is an expensive one, put out the 100 bucks or whatever to have it done by professionals.
you drain out enough water so that you can replace it with anti freeze. I think you remove the bottom radiator hose to allow the water to flow out. there may be a plug somewhere but I don't think so
turn the stopcock under the radiator to drain and the cap atop the radiator is usually for filling unless you have an extended hose to offset the infill cap
At the bottom of the radiator should be a nut which, when loosened will let the radiator empty. Alternatively, you can disconnect the bottom hose and empty it that way.
As a quick point, it is not a good idea to run plain water for too long - as anti-freeze is used not only to prevent freeze-ups but ALSO contains a corrosion inhibitor.
You might well find your water is a little rusty looking when you drain down, don't panic unduly, but you might then want to put the garden hose i the top of the radiator and keep it running until the water is running clean. THEN drain down. put pipe back on (or tighten up the bolt) and then refill.
start your engin. open the peacock valve on the bottom of your radiator, let all the water run out including the water in the block. watch you temp. guage. do not over heat to a boiling point. shut off engin, let cool, install anti freeze depending on the size of your raditor. then top off with half water.
what you need to do it to take off the bottom hose on the radiator to drain it %26amp; aslo remove bottom hose on radiator reservoir ot drain it if you can. once all drained reconect %26amp; fill her up. Guy.
dont flush it if it is an old car. sediment builds up and actually plugs holes in your radiator. flushing it will flush that out and give you leaks.
There should be a plug at the bottom of your radiator. You should be able to flush out the system that way.
Unscrew the drain plug at the bottom of your radiator and let the liquid come out them flush the radiator out with a water hose or special flush liquid from the cap on top of the radiator put the plug back in and fill the radiator back up with 50/50 put the cap back on and there you go!
there should be a drain on the bottom of your radiator that would be the quickest way
on the bottom of the radiator theres a relise mechanism that looks similar to a wing nut turn it till the old antifreeze starts coming out then let it all drain out and then tighten it back up and add the new antifreeze till its full then start you car let it warm up then cool off and check it you will prolly have to add some more antifreeze and thats it nothing to it good luck catcha later bro
Simply lay on your back, shimmy under the front of the car where the radiator is(pull a nice size flat pan under with you to catch the fliud you are going to let out) search for a butterfly shape valve(adjustable wench needed) to open the radiator drain valve and let the water drain into the pan untill the radiator is empty. Close the valve and, come from under the car and refill your new concoction through the top of the radiator after taking the pressure cap of. Note; use eye goggles when working underneath and check for any leak at the drain valve and you don't have to remain under the car while it is draining.grey hair lose control of motor

Will the size of wheels on my car change the gas mileage and speedometer?
I am getting 18%26quot; rims for my Mazda 3 and I heard that the size of wheels makes gas mileage worse and can make your speedometer wrong. Is this true?
Will the size of wheels on my car change the gas mileage and speedometer?
Yes....if your total outside diameter is larger than the factory size.If you go with a bigger rim(wheel)you need to get a lower profile tire. This will keep your total outside diameter the same, and your speedometer will still be correct, but the added wieght of 18''wheels will reduce your gas mileage(not too much).Your local tire store will be able to size it up for you.
Will the size of wheels on my car change the gas mileage and speedometer?
yes and it will accelerate slower as well
Yes. The difference in outer circumference of the tyres as a percentage is the % difference in speedometer. If it's larger you'll get better gas mileage. It will be minor though.
Both statements are true.
Minor variation in mpg. The speedo can be corrected to match the new size.
no, size of the rims doesn't effect the speedometer and it wont effect the mileage too much until u put much wider tiers on them. but they can badly effect the suspension system.
Yes, the larger rims will make the vehicle slower unless you get smaller profile tires to make the final diameter the same, as mentioned before.
As far as gas mileage and performance goes, it may or may not suffer. Many times after market wheels are lighter than stocks wheels even though they are bigger because they are made of higher quality and lighter metals.
If the final diameter is larger than before, it will be like having a bigger gear, which will mean the car will be a bit slower.

What car originals that are not wise to change?
we change tyres, oil filters, sometimes wind sceens, but what are the main components of a car that are not wise to change, to make the car remains %26quot;original%26quot;?
What car originals that are not wise to change?
When the car is made there are 4 numbered parts that are linked to the vehicle and that are stored with the manufacturer. The engine, gearbox, chassis and the locks.
This is is done so that the vehicle can be tracked if there is a warranty problem and if you lose your key.
BUT saying that everything is changeable on a car. so you could end up with the car having all its parts changed due to circumstance. ie you could get a new engine, gearbox, chassis etc As long as they are fitted properly no-one is going to know unless they make checks..
What car originals that are not wise to change?
Engines, tranny's, and drive train of a #'s matching car. Different interior parts like guages, shifters, and seats (you can re-cover seats with OEM covers). Depending on the car, you can also get OEM tires which were used in the year the car was made (like the old bias-ply red lines), and even the original style oil and air filters that came on tha car when new from many of the restoration suppliers out there. The best bet is if you have an older and potentially desireable car, stay away from modifications of any kind. Hope this helps.
Mr Poof is correct, except that you CAN rebuild those # matching parts if needed, anything else can be replaced(best if OEM parts)

Another thing is, I forgot to ask the owner if they have proof they have sorned it. If they haven't, will I have to pay the back tax or not?
How do I tax car if I change insurance on the phone and don't have letter yet?
you can't sorry,!!
How do I tax car if I change insurance on the phone and don't have letter yet?
I wouldn worry about the sorn ...been only maybe a couple of days and dvla will have them as the keeper
You can tax your car online ...ok the tax disc will take a couple of days to come through the post but you have a reason and should the police check their records it will prove your car is taxed
Tax it online!
You can tax your car, DVLA will check electronically to see if you have the relevant documents. Do it online here,
http://www.taxdisc.direct.gov.uk/EvlPort鈥?/a>
You can tax it online. The disk will take up to 5 days to arrive, but if the police or a traffic warden report the vehicle to the DVLA as not displaying a tax disc, you will not get a fine, because the DVLA know it is taxed, and they know why you are not displaying a disk.
Their computer knows if you have insured it - the insurance companys computers are linked to the DVLA. They also know if it has an MOT - all MOT station computers are linked to the DVLA.

Can you change your car door locks at any auto body shop?
I need new door locks due to theft, where can I change the locks other than the bodyshop?
Can you change your car door locks at any auto body shop?
Any locksmith can replace or re-key your door locks. Depending on the vehicle, you may be able to buy new door locks, including the keys, and have them installed. On some cars, it is a rather simple job, on others it is more difficult.
Call several locksmiths in your area to get an idea of the price, and check with the dealer for the cost of new lock cylinders.
Can you change your car door locks at any auto body shop?
You can probably find someone in the Yellow Pages that will do it cheaper than a garage/bodyshop.
x
Well it all depends on if the shop has the necessary equipment. Really it all boils down to the locking mechanism and I had my locks changed by a locksmith, not even a auto shop. If you call any of your local auto shops they should be able to either tell you they can or direct you to a reliable shop that can.

How do you change a car's oil?
im 13 years old and wanna help my mom out by changin her car oil instead of her havin to pay for it to be changed, and she has a 1997 chevy cavalier so can someone please explain how i can change the car oil. thanks
How do you change a car's oil?
Drain the oil and put in a new filter.
How do you change a car's oil?
wash the car for your mom or do something else nice for her, but don't try to change the oil. It's only $20 to have a shop do it. If you don't get it right, you could ruin the engine and end up costing her thousands of dollars in repairs. It's one of those things that if you have to ask how then you shouldn't be doing it.
Find the drain plug under the car make sure it is the oil drain plug and not the transmission drain plug. Get a oil pan and drain the oil into the pan. find the oil filter and take it off using a oil filter wrench. Fill the new oil filter with new oil and take your finger and put some oil around the seal of the filter and put the filter on. Put the oil drain plug back in and fill the engine with 4 quarts of oil and your done. Good luck
1.) Find a drive through oil change place.
2.) Remain in your car and have a coffee or read.
3.) Beware of getting sold on other things that may need attention but might be a good idea to take care of. (Not all these guys are crooks)
4.) Pay the bill and drive away with confidence and reduced anxiety.
5.) Consider using synthetics from www.lubedealer.com/hiebert because these motor oils will last longer and protect your car for up to six months or 7,500 miles or 25,000 miles or a year depending on which product you use.
That's awfully nice of you, but I don't recommend you doing it.
If something goes wrong, it will cost thousands of dollars to fix your goof-up.
Wash the dishes, vacuum the carpet, or clean the bathroom if you want to help.
Or cook her dinner...?
first make sure the car is cool.. then lye under the front of the car and you will see a bolt in the bottom of a pan rite under the motor not the transmission... this bolt will be the lowest bolt in the pan get the rite wrench to fit this bolt but befor removing have a gallon pail or bucket or pan ready to catch the oil in... next remove the bolt and let the oil drain in the pan un till it stops dripping... then you have to find the oil filter witch is tword the bottom of the motor and looks like a can of pop maybe a little bigger... this is the hard part.. you have to remove this can and it will be greasy..it shouldnt be that tight though remember turn it to the left to remove ... right to tighten.. it will leak oil so catch it in the pan .....replace the pan bolt you took out earlier called the drainplug and tighten it tight!!!! take the new filter there should be a rubber ring on the thred side of the new can... dip the rubber gasket in the old oil befor you put the filter on tighten it hand tight plus a 1/4 turn .. no more !!!! then put 4 quarts of oil in and start the car when 4 have been put in.. shut the car off and check the oil... it will need between 1/4 and 3/4 of another quart of oil when the oil is full put the old oil in the empty quarts and take them to the auto parts store and they will recycle it for free good luck if you have questions call me at 402 307 0052
Everyone forgot to mention how to dispose of the oil properly, please, if you really are going to change the oil by yourself don't dump it down the drain. Bring it to a local garage and they'll take your used oil, but since you're going to have to go there might as well have them do it in the first place.software email
