What car originals that are not wise to change?

we change tyres, oil filters, sometimes wind sceens, but what are the main components of a car that are not wise to change, to make the car remains %26quot;original%26quot;?

When the car is made there are 4 numbered parts that are linked to the vehicle and that are stored with the manufacturer. The engine, gearbox, chassis and the locks.

This is is done so that the vehicle can be tracked if there is a warranty problem and if you lose your key.

BUT saying that everything is changeable on a car. so you could end up with the car having all its parts changed due to circumstance. ie you could get a new engine, gearbox, chassis etc As long as they are fitted properly no-one is going to know unless they make checks..
What car originals that are not wise to change?
Engines, tranny's, and drive train of a #'s matching car. Different interior parts like guages, shifters, and seats (you can re-cover seats with OEM covers). Depending on the car, you can also get OEM tires which were used in the year the car was made (like the old bias-ply red lines), and even the original style oil and air filters that came on tha car when new from many of the restoration suppliers out there. The best bet is if you have an older and potentially desireable car, stay away from modifications of any kind. Hope this helps.
Mr Poof is correct, except that you CAN rebuild those # matching parts if needed, anything else can be replaced(best if OEM parts)
