Very easy to change by yourself.... buy 5 quarts of oil and the right oil filter for your car, also a drain pan. Crawl under your car, find the oil drain bolt on your oil pan, un sscrew it, drain the oil, remove the oil filter, put on new oil filter, re-fill with new oill and your done.

Changing the oil is a simple task if your willing to take the time to do it correctly. I have seen too many people try to rush through it and cause a bigger problem. my best advise would be to first purchase the repair book on your car. this will show you the location of your oil filter, what it looks like, and has a section on changing the oil. items you will need, a set of box end wrenches, a jack and jack stands, an oil drain bin, the oil and filter, red shop towels or paper towels, and oil filter wrench, the ability to pay attention to the project. You will want to block the rear wheels and raise the car up so you have access to the bottom of the car. use the jack stand to support the car, NEVER climb under a car when it is supported with just a jack. ALWAYS USE JACKSTANDS. next move the drain pan under the drain plug of the car. using the correct size box end wrench, loosen the oil drain plug and start to slowly turn the plug out. if you are careful enough you should not get any oil on your hand or in your face, and it will all go in to the drain pan. while the oil is draining locate the oil filter. Loosen the oil filter about 1/2 a turn for right now. once the oil has finished draining (A small amount of oil will continue to drain) replace the plug and put a 1/8 to a 1/4 turn on the plug to make sure it is tight. next move the drain pan under the oil filter and continue to remove the oil filter. Having a towel in your hand is a good idea as oil will drain from the filter when you start to remove it. let the oil finish draining off (About 30 seconds) and remove the filter and place it in the drain pan. take your new replacement filter and put a small amount of clean oil on the rubber gasket of the filter. (This allows the filter to seat better on the housing, it will also allow it to turn of easier the next time you have to change the oil.) before you put the new filter on take a finger and check the plate housing and verify there is no gasket on the motor, if there is, remove the gasket. install the new filter, when it makes contact to the plate, you will want to put another 1/2 to 3/4 of a turn on the filter. proceed to remove the oil pan from under the car. add the recommended oil to the engine (The amount is in the book you purchased from the auto parts store) once the oil has been added, start the car and make sure the oil pressure comes up. Once the oil light has gone out, check the drain plug and filter for leaks, turn the car off and lower it from the jack stands. You oil change is complete. Your first oil change can take you up to 30 minutes to complete. After doing it a few times you will work it out to where it will only take you about 10 minutes.
