03 Chevy Impala old police car change enigine oil light stays on after I changed the oil what do I do?|||you say you did the gas pedal to the floor 3 times and it didn%26#039;t work so now try unhooking one battery cable for about 2 minutes and rehook it.|||Turn the key to run and push the gas pdeal down three times within five seconds. Oil type has nothing to do with it, It counts RPM%26#039;s ,So if you get on it all the time the light will come on faster than if you drive consevatively
On some of the chevys there is a red button under a panel next to the fuses. If you open the drivers door you will see the panel on the dash.|||The light needs to be reset manually after an oil change. It does not go off automatically. Try the other posters method, if it does not work there may may be a different procedure. If the car has a manual, which I doubt, it%26#039;s in there.|||You have to Reset the light. try this , Turn the key to the on poistion and push the gas pedal all the way down to the floor 3 times within 5 seconds. that should reset the light. good luck
P.S. unhooking the battery will not reset any lights !!|||did it go on before or after change? if it went on after maybe used wrong grade oil
