How difficult is it to change tires on my car?

I want to know how difficult it is to change the TIRES, NOT WHEEL, on my car. I can replace a flat, but I need to buy new tires and is it possible for me to replace them myself?
How difficult is it to change tires on my car?
you can change tires yourself, but i would not recommend it as you would need special tools, don't know if they make them any more, if you do don't forget to mark weights in case you knock them off. best way to break tire from rim is place tire in front of wheel just enough so tire can run over edge of tire and break loose from rim.
How difficult is it to change tires on my car?
On a scale of 1-10 I would say 9.75
Not going to happen, they use a machine to get the tire back onto the wheel and without it, its pretty damn near impossible.

Heck just pay for it, its not that expensive
Changing the tires involves safe practices. Mounted tires can be changed with a wrench and a jack. Tires alone are removed from the car while on the rims, placed onto a tire changer and replaced. This is a labor-intensive process.
No! It can be done with tire irons, but it isn't worth the risk of damaging the bead on a new tire. Even if you can break the bead on the old tires, remove them from the rims, and get the new ones on the rims without destroying them, you're still going to have to pay someone seven bucks a tire to spin balance them. Bottom line is you'll have to pay anyways, AND you'll be missing fingers and a day of your life that you'll never get back.
It's really impossible to remove your own tires at home and mount new ones. Visit your local tire shop and watch them at work, the specialized tools to remove and install a tire are all pneumatic and press the bead away from the rim. At home beating and pounding on the bead to break it loose would probably result in damage to your rim as well as damage to yourself. And once they're mounted you'll need them balanced as well. The basic tools alone would be many times over what a tire shop would charge you to do the job.
Without the proper tools it is not possible. If you are buying new tires, most places will mount them for free. They will usually charge for balancing though.

  • How do I change my car stereo?

I have a 2001 infiniti G20 with the stock bose sound system.. I have the stereo I bought for my last car and Im wanting to switch the two.

Is this possible to do alone?

I dont know how to remove the BOSE system from the car, and then can I just unplug the cords and replug them in my new kenwood???

anyone who knows how to remove the stereo or has any tips please help.
How do I change my car stereo?
Well Jeff is half right about the mounting kit for the dash. But you need a bose interface adapter . Most bose system have amp on each speaker so just using a standard wiring kit won't work but it could damage the new stereo or the speakers. You will need to get the pac ROEM-NIS2 OR THE AOEM-NIS2 . There about $60 .Use the link below I hope this helps
How do I change my car stereo?
Yes, and it's very simple to do, as well.

You will want to buy the %26quot;fit kit%26quot; for your Infiniti, which will include a plastic or metal bracket that fits in the dashboard in place of the original stereo and a wiring harness that will go from the factory stereo connector to a series of color-coded wires for each speaker, power, etc.

If you still have the wiring harness for your kenwood, you will be able to match up the colors and crimp them together (butt splice) to make a connector that goes from the back of the kenwood to the factory harness. No permanent modifications will need to be made to the vehicle using this installation.

I usually buy my fit kits from crutchfield.com, but I don't know that they have one for a 2001 infiniti. I recommend looking on an infiniti forum and asking people what wiring harness and fit kit they use.
You should be able to do it by yourself depending on how mechanically/installing capable you are( I know poor sentence structure)

Here are a couple of links that should help:

Is it really necessary to change the oil in your car every three thousand miles?

Although it is recommended that you get the oil changed in your car every three thousand miles, is it really necessary?
Is it really necessary to change the oil in your car every three thousand miles?
When it comes to intervals consider your driving habits for oil changes. If you drive in the city you will want to change oil more oft ten because of starts and stops. Reason for this is automobile engines do not have the luxury of a circulating oil system when the engine is not in use. Along with this every time you start a engine that is cold you do an equivalent of 250 miles damage to your wear parts. So if you are a city driver every 1500 to 2000 miles, highway 3000 to 5000 miles between oil changes.

Consider using a better oil filter like K%26amp;N or Mobil 1 as you will see benefit from day 1 using these filters.

Is it really necessary to change the oil in your car every three thousand miles?
only if you want your car to keep running
actually its all a conspiracy cars don't even need oil
It is not necessary to change it at 3k miles but if you want the best performance from your car you should change it at 3k... otherwise you can change it at 5k or around there.
I have a 2001 Honda Civic. Oil change with Syntheitc every 7,500-9,000 miles. It has 217,000 miles and doesn't use any oil.. I would say most newer cars can go around 5,000 between oil changes. With synthetic you can go as much as 7,500 miles between oil changes.
Depends on the car. Have known some to run for 10,000 miles without a change and very infrequent top-ups.

Older cars it is more important to prevent wear so I would change the oil more often. Modern cars are quite well designed and could go for many many miles after the service interval without an oil change.
yes if that is what the automaker has recommended or if the oil manufacturer recommends it. I learned the hard way I didn't change my oil properly and ended up having to put a new motor in my car. It was cheaper to buy a new vehicle. My current ford f-150 has 218,000 on it runs great looks good and gets oil changes every 3,000 miles or 3 months religiously. I wished I would have put a $30 dollar oil change into my car versus having to spend $8,000 for a new vehicle. When you don't change the oil it breaks down to the point where it won't lubricate everything properly. That is when you have major problems. Take the time to change the oil. Its cheaper in the long run.
its a good idea. Depending on your driving habits, this can change (ie. if most of your driving is on the highway, you can go longer between oil changes).
When I purchased my new car, I was advised that the oil change recommendations were every six thousand miles; however, I'm still a bit old fashioned and continue with every three thousand. That seemed to work really well with my last car as it was still running well after 15 years! The only reason I purchased a new one was because it became a %26quot;Nissan Sandwich%26quot; in an accident.
I would say that's way over the top - most modern cars have oil change intervals of between 10,000 %26amp; 12,000 miles. Modern synthetic or semi synthetic oil doesn't degrade like mineral oil, so 3,000 miles is ridiculously excessive.

I still have the handbook for my 1979 pick up, it only recommended 6,000 mile intervals back then!
    HI,

Don't know what type of car you have of what type of driving you do. Yes it's a really good practice to change your oil and filter every 3000 miles. Think of it this way, spend $30.00 bucks every 3000 miles to save your engine from abnormal wear or spend $6000 for a new engine........

    It's your choice.

Do I have to change my car insurance to reflect new state as soon as I move there?

Moving to Washington State from New York State on June 18. My current insurance runs out June 30th. I am sure they will ask me to renew before June. Should I tell them about move now or wait until July and then change insurance etc?
Do I have to change my car insurance to reflect new state as soon as I move there?
This site (http://www.dmv.org/wa-washington/car-ins鈥?/a> will tell you all about getting insured in WA. All sorts of info about moving to Washington.
Do I have to change my car insurance to reflect new state as soon as I move there?
You better tell them when you move. Some companies don't do business in every state, and you might have to get new coverage from somebody else.
you had better get it all set up before hand or atleast within a 3 days at most of moving . insurance companies dont want to pay out and will use any reason not to pay out . this seems like one reason they would use not to pay out if you had an accident.
you generally have 30 days grace period after establishing residence in a new state. Establihing residence genrally means getting a drivers lisence or a voter ID in the new state..
You should tell them, because the states are so dissimilar, I would suspect your Washington State rates would be much lower, depending on where you live in New York state, and where you are moving to in Washington State.
I would tell your agent in new york and if the company also writes in Washington it will be no problem. He will just put in a change of address and probably assign to a new agent. If they dont write there they will probably send you a non renewal notice well in advance.. Hopefully they write in both states and are a big company that handles it correctly.

What parts do you need to change when making a car tune up?

Im about to do a car tune up on my car. Just want to make sure i change everything i need.
What parts do you need to change when making a car tune up?
A tune up usually refers to the fireing system of the car. So that will include the spark plugs and possibly the spark plug wires on a fuel injection motor. If you have a distributor you may wish to change the rotor cap and the distributor cap as well, depending on how old they are. If you wish to change the oil and filters that is fine but usually is not part of the tune up.
What parts do you need to change when making a car tune up?
    oil/oil filter

    possibly injectors if it's EFI

clean all sensors or replace them

    change all filters

  • Does Royal Purple synthetic change appearances in a car after a period?

WIll the purple color appear more like an black oil after running through a car, and for how long will that change take? Hours, 100's of miles, thousands of miles?
Does Royal Purple synthetic change appearances in a car after a period?
All synthetics do that...some end up chocolate brown, royal purple is purple to begin with so black is not out of the question. It usually doesn't take a long time as sludge buildups are there even if you change the oil every 2k miles.
Does Royal Purple synthetic change appearances in a car after a period?
I've never used the stuff. So i'm curious now. damn you!
    721 miles.
If you go from dino oil to synthetic, the synthetic will clean some of the residue from the dino oil and turn black. How fast it takes depends on how much residue there is in the crankcase. Then, when you change the oil %26amp; add more synthetic, it will also pick up some residue, but there will be much less, so it will darken slower, and so on, and so on ....
It depends on the condition of your engine and how you run it, how long it takes for the oil to change. Heat oxidizes and blow-by contaminates oil. Old, worn engines have blow-by. Hard freeway miles cook and oxidize oil. Synthetic resists oxidation better than mineral oil. I changed my synthetic oil about 300 miles ago and it hasn't darkened yet, in my '98 Corolla. The old oil that I used for about 18 months was dark, but you could still see though it. When that oil was put in I drove the car from Oakland, California to Keystone, Colorado, via Wyoming. Hard miles. Fast miles. The old oil was recently changed and the mileage was just under 100,000 miles. First, engine flush was used to really clean the engine inside, because I always do that. I use %26quot;Slick 50%26quot; every change.
yes it is normal it is just a dye it turns black after just a while I use it in my cummins diesel engine just go to www.royalpurple.com and look at questions and answers and they and they will tell you all that you need to know about it.ok stuff just not enough different viscosities for transmission and gear boxes for that I preffer amsoil synthetic bit more but well worth it for 500,000 mile extended drain interval savings in gear boxes.
